Images of Peaceful Places
When you look at Tom's paintings, be
prepared to let your imagination give you
a few moments to relax. His creations
capture the sights, the mood and the
atmosphere that are typical of the northern
Illinois landscape. Tom utilizes a realist
technique in watercolor to capture the
feel in his landscape images. He employs
multiple glazes of paint and drybrush
pigment applications to create a unique
quality to his watercolor paintings.
Tom grew up in the western suburbs of
Chicago and now makes his home
and studio in Rockford, located
in north central Illinois.
Tom's works have been included in
numerous local, regional, and national
exhibitions. He is an associate member of
the American Watercolor Society and
holds signature status with the Northwest Watercolor Society,
Watercolor Society of Alabama - Bronze Status, North East
Watercolor Society and Watercolor U.S.A. Honor Society.

Beside Still Waters received Best of Show
in the A River Runs Through It
Competition. The Awards judge
commented, " The piece has an amazing
sense of light and warmth that carries
throughout the entirety of the work. The
subtle transition of color across the
surface of the water creates a stunning
illusion of stillness without sacrificing
visual interest. "
